Gimmi PLC (“we”,” us” and “Gimmi”) is committed to ensuring our website is absolutely secure for customers (“customers”, “you”, “your”) to use and takes great care to protect your information.

This Privacy Policy sets out, how in compliance with Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament (“Directive”) and the UK’s Data Protection Act 1998 (“Act”), Gimmi collects, protects, uses and shares Personal Data (as defined under the Act and as described below) .

What information do we hold on you?
When you shop on this website we will ask you to input personal details in order for us to identify you, such as your name, e-mail address, billing and delivery address, credit card or other payment information. We may also collect such information from you via emails and telephone conversations. This is your Personal Data. Please note we may monitor or record telephone conversations with you to ensure consistent services levels, to prevent or detect fraud and for training purposes.

 

What do we do with your Personal Data?
Subject always to our compliance with the Directive and the Act, Gimmi will use your Personal Data in the normal course of business for the following purposes:

Credit Applications
Our credit supplier is Paybreak Limited. (“Paybreak”). If you apply for credit through Gimmi, Paybreak will search your record at a credit reference agency or agencies who will supply Paybreak with credit information as well as information from the electoral register. Paybreak will use credit scoring methods to assess your application and to verify your identity. Credit searches and other information which is provided to Paybreak and/or the credit reference agencies about you and those with whom you are financially linked may be used by Paybreak and other companies if credit decisions are made about you or other members of your household. You are linked with another individual if you make a joint credit application or run a joint credit account with them. Even if your application goes no further, the credit reference agencies will add details of this search and your application to your record.

Paybreak will search your records with the credit reference agencies so they can manage your account and take further decisions about credit. These searches will not be available to other lenders for credit assessment purposes.


If Paybreak enters into a credit agreement with you they will also add details of your agreement as well as ongoing details of your account and how you manage it to credit reference agency records. If you do not repay on time or in full they will tell the credit reference agencies who will record details of the debt. All this information will be seen by other organisations carrying out later searches. The information may be used to assess you for credit or to verify your identity.

Please note that, subject to Your Rights (as set out below)where you apply for credit with Paybreak you will be deemed as having provided your consent to Gimmi to provide the relevant personal information to Paybreak for the purpose of obtaining credit. In addition, (and subject to Your Rights) you will be deemed as having provided your consent to Gimmi to contact other reputable potential credit sources and to provide them with your personal information for the purpose of obtaining credit in circumstances where your credit application to Paybreak is refused.  

 

Where we store your Personal Data
By submitting Personal Data, Customers consent to it’s transfer, storage and processing by Gimmi. Gimmi will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by the Act and related legislation from time to time. 

 

Your Personal Data may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination inside the European Economic Area ("EEA") or alternatively outside the EEA, as long as it is in a country that is deemed ‘adequate’ in line with European Union standards to transfer Personal Data to/from the EEA, such as the United States of America (“USA”).

Disclosure of your information to third parties
Subject to your rights of objection (see below), you agree that Personal Data may be disclosed to other businesses within our group of companies and to reputable third parties including agents or sub contractors who will help process your order or whose products or services may be of interest to you.

Retention of Personal DataGimmi will retain your Personal Data securely for as long as is reasonably necessary in order use it for the purposes identified above, or in accordance with any applicable laws or regulations. Gimmi will update, archive or securely delete Personal Data if it goes out of date. Personal Data that is no longer needed for the purposes will also be securely deleted.
